After the Bharat Jodo Yatra, the Congress is preparing to take out Bharat Naya Yatra. The route of this yatra will start from the northeastern state of Manipur and reach Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra. Congress will cover a distance of 6200 kilometers in this journey.
Congress has taken a big decision before the 2024 elections. After Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, Congress has now announced the second yatra. Congress has named this yatra as ‘Bharat Nyaya Yatra’, which will start on January 14. In this journey from Manipur to Mumbai, Congress will cover a distance of 6,200 kilometers.
Bharat Nyay Yatra will start from 14 January, which will continue till 20 March. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will flag off this visit. This Congress journey will not be entirely on foot like before.
Bharat Jodo Yatra
Yatra will cover 85 districts of 14 states
Buses will be used in this mega yatra, through which 85 districts of 14 states will be covered. The states that Congress will cover in this 6200-kilometer journey include Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra. There will be a bus to reach a maximum number of people on this journey. Apart from this, the leaders participating in the yatra will also walk for some time from time to time.
Why was it named Bharat Naya Yatra?
When Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh was asked why this Yatra was named Nyaya Yatra, he said that we want to assure the public that we will provide economic, social and strategic justice. The first yatra passed through 12 states, while this second yatra will pass through 14 states.
Named Nyaya Yatra because of Manipur violence?
The aim of Congress is to reach as many people as possible through this journey, which is why the party has chosen the route of such a long journey. The party has started this in Manipur because the period of violence has been going on there since May last year. The central government and the state government together have not been able to stop the violence in Manipur till now. Rahul Gandhi had also visited Manipur for a few days and had also met the victims of violence there. Apart from this, Congress had also brought a no-confidence motion against the government in the Parliament regarding the Manipur violence. However, this proposal was rejected. Now Congress Party and Rahul Gandhi are preparing to create an atmosphere against the government in the country by using Manipur as their base.
What was Bharat Jodo Yatra?
Congress had started Bharat Jodo Yatra under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. This journey, which started on September 7, 2022, lasted for about 5 months. Through Bharat Jodo Yatra, Congress leaders from different states walked with Rahul Gandhi from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. Through this journey, Congress had covered a distance of about 3500 kilometers.
According to the Congress Party, the main objective of the Bharat Jodo Yatra was to fight the politics of ‘hate, fear and bigotry’. Apart from this, we have to fight against the neglect of people’s aspirations and political centralization and injustice by the central government.
